GEDWorksTM Program

What are the requirements for me to participate?

You must be an eligible member of UHC HPN Medicaid and must be 18 years or older.

Is there a cost for this program?

NO, it’s FREE!

Will the program work for my schedule? How long will it take me?

Absolutely! Your personal GED Advisor™ will work with you to customize your plan. For the best and quickest results, we recommend you set aside time each week to study.

What can I do to prepare for the program?

You will want to plan for about 3 hours of study each week. Study materials are mobile-friendly, but a computer is the best tool for success. You will take one subject at a time, and you will progress at your own pace. Your advisor will be in touch with you weekly and you can reach out anytime for help.

Is the program online or in a traditional classroom?

All the tests and study materials are online. You may take the final tests at a testing center in your area.

What if I don’t have my own computer?

Access to a computer or tablet is a must. Libraries and local education centers have computers for public use. You can also reach out to a UHC HPN Medicaid Community Health Worker for assistance. Call Member Services at 1-800-962-8074 to learn more.

When do I know if I was approved?

You will receive an email from ged.com within 24-48 hours of your approval. Your advisor will also reach out to you once you are approved for the program.

What happens if I am no longer a member of UHC HPN Medicaid?

UHC will pay for your entire GED journey, as long as you are a member when you apply.
