What is ILOS Housing Support?
ILOS stands for In Lieu of Services. These are special services that help people get and keep safe housing. They are offered instead of regular Medicaid services and are meant to improve health and reduce emergency visits.
What Housing Services Are Covered?
These services help people find and stay in housing. Room and board (rent and food) are not paid for.
- Case Management – Help with planning, finding housing, and connecting to other services.
- Housing Transition Services – Help with searching, applying for, and moving into a home.
- Housing Deposits – One-time help with things like security deposits, utility setup, first/last month’s rent, and safety fixes in the home.
- Housing Support – Ongoing help to stay housed, like talking with landlords, learning how to budget, and getting healthy food.
Who Can Get These Services?
You may qualify if you:
- Are homeless or at risk of losing your home
- Have one or more of these health needs:
o Mental illness
o Emotional or behavioral problems
o Drug or alcohol problems
o At risk of going to the hospital or needing emergency help
o Pregnant or recently had a baby (within 60 days)
o Recently left jail or a hospital (within 90 days)
o Moving from a care facility to a home (within 30 days)
o Survivor of domestic violence or human trafficking
- Need these services instead of going to the hospital or using emergency transportation
Prior authorization is required. Your situation will be reviewed by our housing team to see if you qualify.

ILOS Housing Services are available in Clark County.

What Are the Benefits and Risks?
Benefits:
- Helps you stay in safe housing
- Fewer trips to the emergency room or hospital
- Easier access to health care and support
Risks:
- You will need to pay rent after we help you with getting housed
- You must follow the rules in your lease (rental agreement)

If You Disagree With a Decision
You have the right to speak up if you don’t agree with a decision about ILOS.
Here’s how:
- Call Member Services at 1-800-962-8074 Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
