Nevada Medicaid is moving some Health Plan of Nevada Medicaid members to a different plan effective on January 1, 2026.

If Nevada Medicaid moves me to another plan, can I get my Health Plan of Nevada Medicaid plan back?

If you receive a letter from Nevada Medicaid letting you know you are being moved to another health plan, you can switch back to Health Plan of Nevada. Information will be provided in the letter. The switch period begins January 1, 2026.

  • If you are moved to a different plan, your effective date with your new plan is January 1, 2026.
  • You can switch back to Health Plan of Nevada. Per Nevada Medicaid, switch requests must be received by March 31, 2026.

When will I know if I’m being moved?

Per Nevada Medicaid, members will be notified by mail in October 2025. If you do not get the letter notifying you of a plan change, you will stay with Health Plan of Nevada Medicaid and receive Nevada Medicaid’s open enrollment packet.

If my plan changes, will I still be able to see my doctor?

It depends. Some providers are only in our network. In certain instances, you may be covered to see these exclusive providers for a limited time.

Why is this happening?

Nevada Medicaid wants Medicaid membership spread more equally between health plans offering Medicaid benefits in Nevada.
